Careers

Working in the Northern Black Forest

The Children's Hospital Schömberg is located on the outskirts of the village facing south at a medium altitude in the northern Black Forest. Patients and staff alike benefit from the prevailing healing climate.

For its size, Schömberg has an exceptional infrastructure with good childcare facilities and high recreational value. Pforzheim and Calw, home town of literature nobel prize winning Hermann Hesse, are 20 minutes away by car, Stuttgart and Karlsruhe can be reached in just under an hour. As a neurological specialist hospital, we are devoted in the treatment of children of all ages and young adults who suffer from multiple disabilities or developmental disorders or who are at risk of developing them. The work in the Children`s Hospital is characterised by the need to analyse and understand the often complex problems of our patients together as a treatment team. Therefore, interdisciplinary powers of observation, empathy, creativity and interdisciplinary work are required. This enables us to meet the diverse and often multidimensional challenges with equally diverse therapeutic approaches. Medical, therapeutic and nursing measures can all contribute decisively to recovery, sustainable stabilisation or improved participation. Our treatment team has grown over decades and therefore has a wealth of experience in dealing with our special patient clientele. Nevertheless, or precisely because of this, we attach great importance to regular further training of our staff and constantly integrate innovative therapy approaches into our treatment portfolio.

If you want to apply as a doctor at the Children's Hospital Schömberg, you must have completed your medical studies and should have several years of professional experience in paediatrics.

The prerequisite for obtaining the German licence to practise medicine for EU citizens is passing a German C1 foreign language examination and the recognition of the professional qualification must be applied for.
